Tacoma Narrows Bridge, "Galloping Gertie"

UAS  Director, Robert Mester,  is an expert on the remains of the bridge .  He is responsible for getting the submerged remains placed on both the State and National Registers of  Historic Places. 

SS GOVERNOR

The SS Governor was a coastal passenger liner for the Admiral Line.  Just after the change of watch at midnight on April 1st, 1921 she was involve in a collision with the freighter SS West Hartland.  She sank in 20 minutes  to the bottom 240 feet below, a mile off Point Wilson Light.

B-17G Flying Fortess

This aircraft had to make an emergency landing on a frozen lake in the boreal forests of Labrador.  The crew was rescued and the plane lost below the lake waters in the spring thaw.  It was found by UAS in 1998 and recovered in 2004.

ROV Challenge Program

 UAS wanted to incorporate the adventure and technologies involved in the projects into science curriculums that would help science teachers with the principles they were instructing. UAS initially partnered with the Naval Undersea Museum Foundation, Lockheed Martin, and Bainbridge High School to develop the ROV Challenge Program. 

Museum of Flight ACE

In 2005 Zak Jones help UAS establish an education program for the Museum of Flight ACE (Aerospace Camp Experience). The program provides and introduction to SCUBA diving and allows students to have a micro-gravity experience.
